1. Attendance and Papers....
If you have something to turn in, please place it on the desk. If you are expecting something back, I'll give it to you shortly.
2. Quick Presentations, cont. Logical Fallacies....
3. Groups and editing....
In groups of three, read each other's papers and fix any obvious mistakes or typos, and circle areas where you think there might be mistakes. Also, answer the questions listed below on the back of the essay you read. Please be sure to include the number of the question in your answer. That way you won't have to write the questions over and over.
1. Does the opening paragraph make you want to read more?
2. Do you understand the purpose of the essay? What is it?
3. What's the topic?
4. Does the essay rely mostly on logos?
5. Is there pathos in the essay?
6. Do you trust the speaker? Does it seem like they are being fair?
7. Do they address the other side of the issue and try to refute some points?
8. Would someone disagree with the speaker? Is the topic something arguable?
4. HOMEWORK- Make changes to your draft and return with a copy for editing next class.
